What I’m Doing Now
This is a Now page. The idea comes from one of my favourite writers and thinkers, Derek Sivers.
Last updated: 31 January 2025.
🛠️ Doing
January felt like a LONG month. Seriously, there is no way it was just 31 days…! I have had a few minor health niggles (hormone and exercise injury related), but I am hoping these are clearing up now so I can treat February as my fresh start for 2025. I have a renewed focus on health.
Despite a “meh” start to the year, I’ve been doodling and continue to enjoy this creative direction. I made some changes to my email newsletter format. Rather than send a short update every week and a long digest at month’s end, I am combining both approaches, so each weekly email includes a summary of my doodles and essays for the week and some of the things that would typically be in the monthly digest (e.g. podcast and article recommendations). Feedback has been positive.
I have also been busy writing and planning this month, as I have some training courses and exciting collaborations on the horizon. More on that soon.
Outside of these activities, I think I’ll be hunkering down until Spring.
Just me?
📺 Watching
I am loving the second series of Severance on Apple TV Plus, and (while I wait for new Severance episodes to drop) I am enjoying a new show called Paradise on Disney Plus (I thought this was going to be one thing, and it turned out to be something completely different… I am intrigued!). I might be watching Grey’s Anatomy for the rest of my life…
🧠 Learning
I’m currently doing a course aimed at coaches about PQ (Positive Intelligence). Honestly, I am still deciding what I think about it, so I will provide some more details in a future update.
🎧 Listening
This month, I have been listening to some great audiobooks. You can see what they have been in my library (see the link in “Reading” below).
Podcast-wise, I’ve been enjoying Simon Sinek’s “A Little Bit of Optimism” and the Zoe Science and Nutrition podcast (I’m not a Zoe customer, but their podcast content is excellent).
📚 Reading
I am on track with my reading goals this month as I finished six books in January (although this feels like cheating as I started some of them in 2024!). Tracking my reading in Tana is working well and you can see my library here: Martine’s Library.
